Keturah Adshead
Keturah runs the Youth Work at Christ Church including FX, Rooted and our schools work.
She is married to Neil who is a local businessman.
Meet the Christ Church team
We have 7 elders in the leadership team along with many other ministry leaders who we call deacons. The elders meet regularly to pray and discuss the best ways to lead the church. They are all involved in pastoral care, Community Group leadership, leading meetings and preaching. Two of the elders are paid full-time staff of the church and we have other staff members who you can meet below.
Graham Nicholls
Graham Nicholls became an elder in December 2001. He has been a member of the church since 1994. Graham is married to Caroline and has three adult children and eight grandchildren. He has been working full time for the church since January 2007. Prior to that Graham worked in the computer software industry. He also works part time as Director of Affinity.
Mark Ventham
Mark moved to Haywards Heath in 2009 with his wife, Ros, and their two sons, when he became one of the full-time paid elders. Previously Mark was studying at Oak Hill Theological college and prior to this he was an Assistant Pastor for seven years for a church in Warwickshire.
Stephen Nicholls
Stephen is married to Ruth and has one son and four grandchildren. He has lived in Haywards Heath and been a member of Christ Church since 2015 and prior to that was involved in a church in Horsham. He is retired having worked in Social Services as a Community Support Worker in the area of Mental Health. His interests include playing the guitar and piano.
Nathan Severs
Nathan became a member at Christ Church when he moved to Haywards Heath from Yorkshire in 2010. After attending various ministry training courses provided by the church and serving in ministry he was recognised as an elder in September 2019. Nathan is married to Charlie and has two young daughters. During the week he is a secondary school science teacher.
Colin Strudwick
Colin is married to Nicky and they have two school aged children. He works for the Civil Service at HMRC and joined the church in 2006.
Ian Thomas
Ian is married to Mia and step-father to Mia’s 2 daughters and has four grown-up children of his own. Ian became a church member in 2019 and works as a secondary school teacher, teaching A level Law (as head of subject), plus Economics and Politics.
Matt Field
Matt is married to Liv and they have a young daughter. He works in his family business which does specialist decorating and building works and joined the church in 2019.
Sarah McQuaker
Sarah is our children and families worker here at Christ Church. She is married to Nick, and they have two sons in further education. She used to teach History and RE in secondary schools, but was able to move to church children’s ministry about 19 years ago and now loves teaching children up to Year 5 and training adults to do the same.
Hana König
Hana is our ministry trainee for this academic year. She studied Spanish and Portuguese at Cambridge and enjoys travelling and exploring new places. She loves to listen to all kinds of music and playing the piano.
Margaret Attwell
Margaret is the church administrator. She is from the north of England but moved to South Africa where she met her husband Lance and they were both converted there. They now live in Sussex and are both members of the church
